This beautiful house has been designed as a series of pavilions to allow maximum integration of indoor and outdoor living. Each pavilion houses different living zones which open onto different courtyard gardens allowing an intimate connection with the outside environment. With a commanding view across Gunnamatta Bay, the Living Pavilion focuses it's outlook to the beautiful water and pool views. Understanding the vagaries of this seaside environment, the family room opens into a protected lawned courtyard to allow for beautiful protected spaces to catch the winter sun away from the cool southerly winds. Bedrooms face into private courtyard spaces which extend the interior spaces creating relaxing spaces to live.
A transformative house renovation using recycled timber, echoing the beautiful boat sheds of the surrounding waterways. Seamless transitions from inside to outside creates an urban oasis where garden and ponds form the backdrop to the living spaces for a relaxing and tranquil flow of energy. Passive energy design principles allow for energy efficient living, harnessing the sun in winter and cooling breezes in summer resulting in a beautifully comfortable house for living. High void spaces, mezzanine levels with a library and beautiful detailing using natural materials result in a stunning waterfront home and garden.
A major renovation overhaul of a 1960’s home has transformed a dark house with poor planning to a lovely bright, open home acting as a backdrop for modern living. Multi pitched butterfly roofs echo it’s mid century roots, allowing for soaring space and light to penetrate into the south facing home. Large outdoor living spaces now flow from open living rooms to allow the garden to enter and envelope the home for a beautiful connection to nature and sanctuary for relaxed family living.
The Nun's Pool development consists of three apartments and a restaurant in Cronulla. Designing the architecture, landscape and all interiors allow a consistency throughout the development. Situated on a narrow site, the design exterior is modulated to allow for courtyard spaces and double height voids, filling the interiors with light and allowing a wonderful connection to the outside environment and terrace living.
This unique home hovers lightly across the steeply sloping rain forest site as if to 'touch the earth lightly'. Faced with a challenging slip site a steel quadropod structure anchors the home into the hill. Beautifully landscaped terraces then tie the family home back into the rainforest allowing for fantastic entertainment areas. The interiors feel like a tree house with light flooding the double height living room and mezzanine bedroom areas. Intimate views of the valley and elevated views to the beach provide for a beautiful and relaxed family home to spend time watching the hang gliders floating by.
